Psychiatrists sometimes identify there as being 10 different types of personality disorder spanning 3 categories (Suspicious, Emotional & Impulsive, Anxious).
Below is a link to a webpage from the mental health charity Mind, describing the different types of personality disorder. Note however that Mind reports that some psychiatrists regard the classification/categories as unhelpful because (among other things) 'there is no scientific evidence for them'. I don't personally know about this field, but if this is so it would not be the first time that psychiatry has used theories which are not based on evidence.
