Poor Diet Worse than Smoking?

There has been much in the news in the UK this week about the fact that bad diets are now causing more ill health and early death than smoking (see for example Poor Diet - Online Article).

Eating too much sugar, salt and red meat and having a high body weight due to poor eating habits are prime culprits it seems (and remember that alcohol contains sugar too!).
