The Ability to Bounce Back

If you have a set back or a 'failure' do you let it get you down or are you able to take it in your stride and move on or learn from it?

'Resilience' is a name that has been coined for the ability to bounce back and adapt when things don't go expected. According to psychologist Susan Kobasa it has 3 essential elements:

1. Resilient people see difficulties as a challenge not as a cause of paralysis.
2. Resilient people show a commitment to their lives, goals and relationships.
3. Resilient people focus their efforts on situations that they can influence not on worrying about situations over which they have no control.
