According to a recent article, scientists have now discovered a gene (the Plexin D1 gene) which causes some people to store fat around their body in a way which gives them an apple shaped body (in the case of beer drinkers sometimes called a pot belly) where fat is around their stomachs rather than in their thighs or bottoms. If so, this could pave the way to helpful treatments because having an 'apple' shaped body rather than a 'pear' shaped body presents significant health risks. To read more click on the link below:
