If you've been watching or listening to the UK news recently you may be aware of the wave of controversy that has surrounded the app recently created by the Samaritans organisation, which enables you to identify when your friends are putting out tweets that suggests they may be depressed or struggling to cope.
The intention behind the app was to enable you to be able to reach out and help your friends if they are in need. One of the problems however is that someone can follow you on Twitter who is not a friend and then use the app to track your moods for their own motives without you being aware of this or having consented to it.
