Preparing for Christmas

With just over a month to go until Christmas, it may be worth spending a few moments to prepare!

Here are three questions to reflect on in your own way and come up with your own answers:

1. What do you want to get out of Christmas this year?
2. What do you want to avoid happening this year?
3. How are you going to act to increase your chances of achieving 1. and 2?

Good luck!

Einstein and Self Help

The scientist Albert Einstein is reputed to have said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.  This idea can be applied usefully to self help.

Can you think of a situation where you repeatedly act in the same way in a similar situation and each time it produces the same or similar unwanted results? If so, then the next time that situation arises, try acting in a different way (perhaps in a way which is almost the opposite of how you might have acted habitually - e.g. try being quiet when before you would have shouted). If the results are any better then consider acting in that new way again in future.
